The Swirl Ponytail

Lemon Blonde, Ash Blonde

1964 - 1965  Swirl Ponytail

  -Ponytail hairdo with side swept bangs.

  -Ponytail tied with a silk golden-yellow ribbon and attached to head with a miniature bobby pin, at nape of neck

  -Variety of hair colors: lemon blonde, ash blonde, titian, brunette and platinum blonde

  - Lip colors:  Coral lips (that often fade to a buttery yellow) are found on the lemon blonde, ash blonde, titian, and brunette swirls.  
Pink or white lips can be found on the platinum swirls.
Coral on the euro-swirl (See photo below).

  - Blue irises with gently curved eyebrows and fuller face (due to the large neck knob on the Midge/Barbie body)

  - Sold wearing a red helenca swim suit, with red open toe shoes, wrist tag, pearl earrings, also included was a gold Barbie stand and booklet

  - Body markings:  Midge TM/@1962/Barbie R/@1958/by/Mattel,Inc./Patented

Euro-Swirl with coral lips (Europe and Canada) - Her hair is a very light lemon blonde, yet not quite platinum! 
I have also seen this hair color on Skippers from Euro

A beautiful blonde Swirl with re-tied hair, original face paint. 
This swirl was successfully treated for green ear.

As you can see on these swirls (titian, ash and blonde) with orig. hair styles, the back of the swirl ponytail is just slightly curled. It is not meant to be in a hard curl like the ponytail Barbie. Note the original golden silk ribbon:
