Net Neutrality Advocacy Videos

Our senators need to know that an overwhelming majority of Americans want an open Internet. We don’t want corporations blocking what we say or do online. We want every website, from biggies like Amazon and Google to sites operated by millions of small businesses and bloggers, to be treated the same, with no fast lanes for companies with deep pockets!

Japanese Skipper 1964

These darling Skippers are the hard-to-find 'Japanese' Skippers®

Barbie® and her friends were also well-loved in Japan.  These Skippers® were exclusively made for the Japanese market.  Notice the big brown eyes (compared to the small blue eyes of the US version Skipper®).  This doll came with either brunette, titian or blond hair.  They usually have 'pink skin,' and they share the same body as the straight-leg 'pink skin' Ricky.  Their lips tend to pale to a buttery-yellow color.

!

Here is a very rare find. Notice that the Japanese Skipper on the right has the beige vinyl of the regular vintage Skipper doll (Compared to my pink-skin Japanese Skipper on the left)!  This doll came to me for some restoration (brow, side lashes and hair restyling) and the face paint truly is all original (not a re-paint). I emailed a good friend/dealer I know and this is what he said about the doll you see on the right: "

"...I seem to remember in a doll competition at one of the National conventions, someone submitted a dressed box Japanese Skipper that is the beige skin tone like the one you are currently restoring..."

Here the pink-skin is on the right and the tan-skin Japanese Skipper is on the left.

Here is another very rare find!  This blonde Japanese Skipper also has the tan vinyl of the regular vintage Skipper doll.  This doll came to me needing restoration to her brows, lips and eyes. Therefore, since I cleaned her face with rubbing alcohol before doing the touch-ups, I am without a doubt sure that this is an original, tan skin Japanese Skipper.
