Japanese Side Part American Girl

kimspag.jpg (42235 bytes)

Lovely examples of Japanese Side Part American Girls
Note their luminescent Mod 'pink skin'

While all American Girls were made in Japan, the "Japanese Side Part American Girl" was made exclusively for the Japanese market and not sold in the USA.

They have the pink skin (Mod doll) vinyl and the straight legs of the Standard Barbie doll -- Not the bendable legs that all other American Girls have (including the Side Parts sold in the USA and in Europe).

Their hair is parted on the side and styled with a turquoise ribbon headband.  A piece of string keeps their distinctive hair style in place.

These high color Japanese American Girls came with either a blonde, silvery ash blonde, and a (hard to find) silvery brunette hair color.  The face paint is bright with beautiful blush and raspberry colored lips (like the 'High Color' American Girls of 1966 and the Side Part AGs made for the European market).

Their nails were either painted or left un-painted! They were sold with the multi-stripe/turquoise swimsuit, matching open toe shoes, wrist tag and wire stand.

No earrings or earring holes

These dolls are highly prized by Barbie collectors everywhere!
