Montgomery Wards Ponytail -- Restyled hair, touched up
lips and blush
The Montgomery Wards Ponytail is a department
store exclusive. She was sold on a very tan, almost gray, 'Midge/Barbie' body.
Her hair
feels much coarser than the original ponytails, and it is known to be uneven.
The face paint, especially the arched brows that sit high on her forehead, is distinguishable from the
original ponytails. Her lips are a dark orange rather than red.
She was sold with the zebra stripe suit and 'Japan' ot
shoes. She did not come with earrings.
There are two versions of this doll; The
catalog version came in a brown shipper. The store version was sold in a pink
box.
In my research I read that one version came with nail polish while the other did
not. I have not been able to confirm this theory, however.
